Cross Keys Access and Sustainability

The Cross Keys Inn is a country Inn close to the A303/ Fosse Way in South Somerset set in scenic countryside near the River Brue. This historic building has been refurbished to a high specification to highlight the rustic charm and original features of the Inn. While staff are always on hand to assist those with special access needs, there are some original features of the 16th Century Inn that may make it difficult for people with limited mobility. This statement is designed to give clear advice so you can plan your visit to us and are fully informed on how accessible we are.

Our furniture is moveable and we will be happy to adapt to customers needs.

A step free way into the bar and toilets can be made through a door into our function room. This can be accessed from the garden.

The garden is step-free access too from the car park.

Our 6 ensuite rooms are accessed via a staircase with handrail. Due to the historic nature of the building we have been unable to add a lift for wheelchair access. On the first floor all rooms are well laid out and all have their own private bathrooms. Meals can be sent up to guests on request.

Campsite

Toilet and shower facilities are accessed from the side of the camping field by the car park. This purpose built block is accessed via a small step.

Sustainability

Sustainability is very important to us with our waste managed through a contract with a specialist waste recycling company to recycle our glass, tin, cardboard, plastics, cooked food waste and kitchen oil. Other measures include careful monitoring of our water use and switching to low energy LED light bulbs throughout the premises. Our campers are encouraged to recycle and recycling facilities are provided. We have a contract with a local taxi firm to encourage taxi sharing and we have information on bus times on this page to encourage use of the stop outside the pub. We prioritise local suppliers and producers in our food and drink sourcing as well as sourcing fairtrade products for hot beverages.
