We are pleased to say we will be re-opening on Saturday 4th July. We’re really looking forward to welcoming you all back.

Things will be a little different as we adjust to meet the new guidelines. We are doing all we can to ensure our environment meets government guidelines and our priority, as always, is to ensure everyone is safe

We are now taking table bookings for food and drink. Our rooms and the campsite can be booked as usual on or after 4th July. Please email us on enquiries@crosskeysinn.info. or telephone 01963 240473

OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE

We have completely re-planned the Cross Keys to adapt to the effects of this virus. Here is a guide to the main changes we have made, bearing in mind that there may be further adjustments as we respond to government guidance over the next few days and weeks.

Our staff will fill in a health questionnaire before starting work. We won’t allow anyone with any Covid-19 symptoms to start a shift and we will check that the correct self-isolation procedures are followed. All staff will have the appropriate personal protection equipment in line with government guidelines and will have been trained in the new service techniques to meet health & safety standards.

In the first few weeks after opening our trading hours will be different.

We will be open from 3pm – 10pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 12pm - 11pm

DRINKS

The bar is closed.  You can come to the pub without booking a table for drinks only and will be seated in the garden or function room. Customers will be asked to remain seated at their tables. We are operating table service only throughout the pub. So please do not approach the bar.

BOOKING A TABLE FOR FOOD

You will need to book a table in advance for food. Food service is indoors in our front bar restaurant or in the function room with doors open onto the garden (weather permitting).

Tables can also be booked in advance for drinks in groups of up to six. Let us know if you prefer to sit inside or outside.  Seating for drinks only is in the garden or function room. We ask that once you arrive you do not move around the pub and remain at your allocated table where you will receive full waiting service for food and drinks.

PREMISES

We have made some quite big changes to our furniture layout to increase the gaps between groups and to meet Government advice. We have done it in a way which we hope maintains a great atmosphere and we have done our best to get around the challenges of working in and old and historic building. There will be some circulation areas where it will be difficult to avoid getting close to each other and we just ask that everyone uses common sense and maintains a great sense of humour!

We have added furniture outside with shelter wherever possible. Fingers crossed we have a lovely warm summer!

We will carefully control the number of people in the building and have new hosting arrangements so that we can control movement on the floor and help our customers through these changes and manage any stresses and strains.

CLEANING

Clearly even more important than ever, we will have front of house cleaning staff on duty all through service wiping down surfaces and providing hand sanitiser for customers and staff. Hand sanitiser stations will be placed around the property so that they can be used easily.

ROOMS

Check in and out will be changed to minimise the need for personal contact. All guests will be contacted prior to arrival with details of procedures.

Room guests will be provided with a continental breakfast which they will need to order the night before. Although the kitchen is closed to the general public on Monday and Tuesday there will be a limited evening menu available for room guests.

Our campsite is open and can be booked as usual. Shower and toilet facilities will be open with a one at a time system in place.
